Na een stukgelopen relatie in Europa keert Elsa (28) terug naar San José, Costa Rica. In het ouderlijk huis stuit ze op een familie in chaos: haar jongere zus Amalia raakt psychisch ontregeld, terwijl hun ouders dit ontkennen.
