SILENT SOULS van Aleksei Fedorchenko heeft een Black Pearl Award gewonnen voor ‘Best Narrative Film’ op het filmfestival van Abu Dhabi. De jury gaf als onderbouwing: “For its poetic depiction of the echoes of a cultural heritage for the people of today and for the excellence of its cinematic language”.

De film gaat over Miron, die na de dood van zijn geliefde vrouw Tanya, aan zijn collega Aist vraagt om hem te helpen afscheid van haar te nemen volgens de rituelen van de Merya cultuur.
